Storyset and Illos, side by side.
Storyset, from Freepik, offers illustrations of people and scenes in several styles, with an online editor to animate and recolour them; free use asks for a credit, and dropping it takes a Flaticon Premium subscription. Illos offers animated illustrations that explain how a product works, free spots with no credit, and skills that teach your coding agent the style.

When Storyset is the better pick
- You need people and situations, with several styles to choose from.
- You want to change the scene itself in an editor before you download it.
- A credit line on your site is fine with you.
When Illos fits better
- Your page explains how something works, and the illustration should show the idea moving.
- You would rather not add a credit line, or pay a monthly subscription to remove one.
- You build with a coding agent and want new illustrations to match the ones you have.
Try one next to what you have
The 30 spot illustrations are free, with no account. Add one to a page beside your Storyset illustrations and see which one explains the idea better.
npx shadcn@latest add https://illos.dev/r/isometric/queue.json
That adds Queue to your project as a React component. Each illustration's page has its own command, and a Copy button for the SVG.

- Do Illos illustrations need a credit line?
- No. The free spots need no credit, and neither does anything that comes with Pro.
- Is Pro a subscription?
- No. Pro is one payment of $49 at launch. It includes a year of new illustrations and toolkit updates, and what you have is yours to keep.
- Can I animate Illos illustrations myself?
- They come animated. If you want a new one, the skills teach your coding agent to draw and animate it in the same theme.
